Brief History
  • Barugo was formerly called Pambojon
  • Augustinian Fr. Alonso Velázquez founded a mission here in 1580.
  • In 1768, it was ceded to the Augustinians and that same year was created a parish.
  • Barugo was made into a town around 1833.
  • In 1843, the Franciscans took charge of Barugo
